Beaches in Gower

The dramatic landscape of the Gower Peninsula must be seen to be believed.

The closest beach is Horton & Port Eynon which is very accessible via a short stroll past the on-site shop, down through the village.  For those who wish to drive there is a car park located at the end of road which is run by the Council and charges apply. On the Port Eynon side of the bay you will find two fish & chip shops, a large gift shop, a surf shop, The Smugglers Haunt (Restaurant) and The Ship Inn (Dog friendly bar & Restaurant).

Three Cliffs Bay is one of the most dramatic locations in Britain, requiring a 20 minute walk to reveal its true splendour. You can park in Parkmill by The Gower Heritage Centre and walk from here.

The huge sweep of Rhossili Bay, featuring the broad expanse of Llangennith beach is equally awe-inspiring – it’s as if you’ve reached the furthest point of land on the planet. This is a very good landscape photo opportunity spot at sunset. Also at Rhossili you will find the Worms Head with a specials board that is locally sourced where possible. The car park is owned by The National Trust which has a flat rate tariff. Tip: you can park in the church car park if there is space and make a donation.

The above are a very small selection of beaches in Gower.

The Gower Heritage Centre (ideal for the younger children)

The Centre is a visitor attraction and rural life museum based around a working 12th century water-mill. A great day out for the whole family, there is an under cover picnic area where they often have a bouncy castle. Also a small soft play area with toy tractors for the younger children to enjoy.  You can get up close and personal with the animals which goes down a treat with the children especially the rabbits.
