Access Statement for Bank Farm Holiday Bungalows

At Bank Farm there is a complex of 38 holiday bungalows, most of which are privately owned.

We currently own twenty five self-catering holiday bungalows which are available to rent. Fifteen of the bungalows have between two and five steps leading up to the front door. Bungalows with three or more steps have been equipped with a hand rail on the right as you descend the steps. No internal adaptations have been made.

  • Level Tarmac parking & reversing area, with designated bay at rear of bungalow.

  • Level ground floor accommodation with doors 750mm wide to all areas.
  • Kitchen has both low and standard level work surfaces. Sink is at an intermediate height, with insulated underside. Oven has low level controls. Contrasting colours used for appliances.
  • Twin bedroom has a single bed with mattress 480mm above floor – standard wheelchair height. Second bed is a fold-up zed bed, to maximise on space for single occupancy by wheelchair user.
  • Bathroom & WC with wheel-in shower. Left-sided transfer to toilet & shower seat. Large basin suitable for strip wash. Sliding door; grab rails fitted throughout.
  • Lounge has a chair with mechanical lifting seat to help to a standing position. All switches and power points in above areas are 900 – 1200mm above floor.
  • Double bedroom has not been adapted.
  • Dogs welcome.

  • All static caravans are privately owned.
  • Touring pitches are either grass or hard standing. All have parking for one car adjacent to caravan.
  • Tent pitches are all grass. All have parking for one car adjacent to tent.
  • Large centrally situated shower & toilet block with ramped access. Men’s and women‘s W.C. (2 of each) adapted for wheelchair use with grab rails.
  • Separate wheel-in shower cubicle for male & female.
  • Level access to bar/restaurant area & coffee bar/conservatory. Waitress service available.
  • Swing doors with no sill at entrance to main facilities. Mat well in porch way.
  • Public payphone available. Good coverage for Orange mobile network.
  • Large carpark adjacent to main facilities – no designated bays for wheelchair users.
  • Ramped access to outdoor heated swimming pool.
  • Level access to unisex W.C. in bar area, fully adapted for wheelchair use.
  • Ramped access to shop and launderette – delivery of provisions by arrangement.
  • Tarmac roads with speed bumps – avoidable by using grass verges.
  • Assistance dogs welcome.
